Since starting my career as a journalist forty-five years ago, I’ve written hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles for a variety of publications in the U.S., South Africa, and the Middle East. These are some of the assignments I’ve most enjoyed, both reporting them and writing them. I’ve valued being able to channel the lives of others, tell their stories, and formulate my own in far-flung places.
